Kennewick

Southridge Plaza

An eight-space retail plaza is taking shape on the west side of Highway 395 opposite Home Depot in south Kennewick

Goodman and Mehlenbacher Enterprises (GAME) is constructing the 12,000-square-foot building on behalf of Jennifer and Sean Simper, who own a neighboring business, Southrdge Dental.

Draftco Designs LLC is the designer. WHL Architecture is the architect.

The project has a construction value of $2.1 million, according to permits issued in August 2024.

The construction site is part of the same neighborhood as The Falls, a new apartment and commercial project at 4112 W. 24th Ave., and Quillan Place Senior Villas, a five-building, 30-bed care facility.

Idaho Central Credit Union is building a 4,600-square-foot branch at 3720 S. Zintel Way in south Kennewick. The city of Kennewick issued building permits in December valuing construction at $12.4 million. The Kennewick branch is the first Tri-Cities location for the Chubbuck, Idaho-based credit union. It is entering the market after buying properties in Kennewick, Pasco and Richland.

Seeing double at Zintel Dam

Two distinct buildings are being built next to one another near Z Place Salon & Spa in south Kennewick.

Alisheva Law and the future home of Idaho Central Credit Union are building offices near the Canyon Lakes area.

Idaho Central is building a 4,900-square-foot branch on a 1.5-acre site it bought on year ago. It will be the first of three branches planned in the Tri-Cities.

Alisheva is building a $1.7 million, 12,000-square-foot office building to serve as a future law office.

Chick-fil-A (update)

7009 W. Canal Drive

The Tri-Cities first-ever Chick-fil-A restaurant is one of the higher-profile construction projects in the area around Columbia Center mall.

In this weekly update, workers have placed underground utilities, with pipework extending above ground.

The $1.1 million, 5,000-square-foot restaurant began in November and will have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a two-lane drive-thru.

Engineered Structures Inc. is building the restaurant for Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A.

Pasco

Mid-Columbia Gymnastics Academy

5102 Convention Drive

L&K Softich LLC of Richland is building a new gym for Mid-Columbia Gymnastics Academy on property north of Fairchild Cinema in west Pasco.

Hummel Construction & Development LLC is the contractor.

The project includes a 17,500-square-foot prefabricated metal building. The project has a construction value of $1.5 million, according to building records. The city approved building permits in November 2024.

Richland

The first of three phases of a commercial development in the Badger Mountain South area is under construction near Country Mercantile..

The two-story building has a construction value of about $2 million and is being built by Hummel Construction & Development LLC for Revive Land LLC. The project will offer three to six suites, with a drive-thru on the end.
