The Port of Kennewick is installing a small, outdoor gathering spot for families and children next to the new Wheat Head on the Water taproom at Columbia Gardens, near Zip’s and the cable bridge.

Wheat Head on the Water opened this spring in the clock tower building.

Wheat Head asked the port to create an outdoor space for guests accompanied by children who couldn’t enter its 21-and-over venue.

The new garden will feature trees, a picnic table, hop vines, a shade structure and twinkle lights.

It will be available to all guests at Columbia Gardens, which is a collection of wineries, tasting rooms, an art studio and food trucks near Duffy’s Pond.

Health First Urgent Care

The former home of Shelby’s Floral is being converted into an urgent care clinic at the intersection of West Clearwater Avenue and North Edison, opposite Safeway.

The building was vacated when Shelby’s moved to new quarters. Health First is modifying the interior layout and windows of the 4,440-square-foot building. The $900,000 project includes a new HVAC system, new plumbing and modifications to the electrical system.

G2 Construction is the contractor.

Hungry Generation Church 4 Plex

Hungry Generation Church is building a four-unit residential building near its new church at North Edison and West Canal Drive.

The 8,000-square-foot project has a construction value of $1.2 million and is being built by Innovative Solutions Construction LLC.

Pasco

Corwin Automotive Group has begun construction of a $12.5 million service center complex in west Pasco to support its Ford dealership.

Corwin Service Complex (update)

Corwin Automotive Group’s new service complex is rising near Camping World in west Pasco.

The 50,000-square-foot project is prompting lots of inquiries, so it bears repeating the details.

The complex is a service center to support Corwin’s busy Ford dealership, which will remain at the Pasco Autoplex.

The $12.5 million service complex is being built by LCE Construction.

Richland

Badger Heights Apartments

3601 Grapeview St.

Fourth Avenue Capital is building a 72-unit apartment complex in Richland’s Badger South neighborhood.

Elite Construction & Development is the contractor for the project, which includes three buildings with 24 units apiece. The project will include a clubhouse and other amenities.

Initial permits value construction at about $110.7 million. The development site is near Southgate Way north of East Reata Road and Interstate 82.

Fourth Avenue Capital is a Northwest residential developer with offices in Seattle and Spokane.

Queensgate Retail

A new strip mall is being built near Queensgate and Keene, near Sherwin Williams.

Future tenants are not identified in building permits.

Owner Jianying Ring is building the 12,367-square-foot project, which is valued at $1.7 million.

Booth and Sons Construction Inc. is the contractor.

An AutoZone store is under construction at 2851 Duportail St. in Vintner Square shopping center in Richland. Corstone Contractors is the builder.

AutoZone Inc. is building a new store at Queensgate, near Les Schwab at Vintner Square shopping center.

The 7,384-square-foot store is being built by Corstone Contractors is the builder. First Richland L.P. is the property owner.

The project is valued at about $1.6 million.
