Frost Me Sweet is expanding.

The Tri-Cities favorite bakery is opening a new location at 421 Wellsian Way, in the old home of The Folded Pizza Pie.

The new storefront will be called Frost Me Sweet Cake & Shake and will feature a drive-thru for “extreme cake milkshakes.”

Also, owner Megan Savely told the Tri-City Herald that potential customers across the U.S. have wanted their monthly dessert subscription box, but their current licensing only allows local deliveries.

The boxes feature her signature cupcakes and other sweet treats delivered monthly in the Tri-Cities.

Once the new space is set up, they’ll be applying for licensing to ship nationwide, allowing orders to be placed from customers who have seen them on shows like Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

The new outlet is currently on track for a May opening.

Kettle Corn

After almost two decades in the Tri-Cities, a popular Kettle Corn brand will be getting a permanent home.

KC Brand Kettle Corn owner Jeramy Schultz told the Herald that it’s been in the works for more than a year, but pandemic and supply chain issues have caused delays.

Schultz said they are looking at an August opening for the new storefront at 624 George Washington Way.

They will be in the same strip as the Graze sandwich and salad restaurant in front of the new Park Place Apartments.

And Schultz said they will continue doing the fundraisers and mobile events they’ve become known for.

Baskin Robbins

One of the most famous names in ice cream is moving from its Kennewick outlet, where it’s been for years.

The Kennewick Baskin Robbins store, which is currently next to Gold’s Gym on Highway 395, is moving about two blocks east.

Their new store will be next to the recently opened Bruchi’s, 2617 W. Kennewick Ave. They expect to open that store April 1.

In 2020 they took third place in a Reader’s Choice poll for Best Ice Cream in the Tri-Cities. Baskin Robbins has three other Tri-Cities locations — two in Richland and one in Pasco.

Riverwalk restaurants

The Columbia Riverwalk Apartments plans to build a commercial building just west of the Pasco apartment complex.

The project will be between the apartments and the Sacajawea Trail parking lot on A Street.

It is expected to be a single building to serve as the home of a future restaurant and coffee shop with views of the Columbia River and easy access to the trail system between the blue bridge and the cable bridge along the Columbia River.

Early filings with the state of Washington show they hope to have the project completed in 2023 or early 2024.
