A new family entertainment center and trampoline park could be adding some bounce to the Tri-Cities.
Quake Trampoline Parks has submitted an environmental impact report to the state of Washington for a new 40,000-square-foot trampoline park just outside Kennewick.
Knutzen Engineering has submitted site plans for the park, which will be near Wiser Parkway and Interstate 82 in Badger Canyon.
Quake developer Paul Knabe told the Herald in an e-mail that the facility will be so much more than just a trampoline park.
“This park will be classified as a Family Entertainment Center because, along with trampolines, we will have a Toddler playground, multiple Virtual Reality arcades, E-Gaming, Tactical Laser Tag, laser maze, cafe and lounge, party areas, conference rooms and other attractions,” Knabe wrote. “This will be much bigger than a trampoline park.”
He expects the entertainment center to open this fall.
It would be the second trampoline park in the Tri-Cities, and about twice the size of the Max Air Trampoline Park south of Columbia Center mall.
Tommy’s Taphouse
Tommy’s Taphouse in Richland has been closed since an October grease fire, but renovation work is in progress.
Documents show that work to repair the building will cost more than $500,000.
The owners said in a December social media post that although the fire was contained to the kitchen, damage from heat and smoke meant the restaurant will require a total renovation.
They expect the work to take at least six months.
The business opened at its Lee Boulevard location in 2012, as a branch of the original Bellingham McKay’s Taphouse, and was the first of its type in the Tri-Cities.
It was renamed in 2017 after it came under new ownership.
Free Expressions Studio
Free Expressions Studio has opened in downtown Prosser.
The studio is billed as a collaborative storefront offering yoga, trapeze, guided meditation, handmade creations and crystals.
The studio offers classes and drop ins. It’s located at 1215 Meade Ave.
Dutch Bros
Dutch Bros Coffee is opening a second Richland location.
The new drive-thru at 490 Wellsian Way will serve customers at the intersection at Stevens Drive and Duportail Street, about one mile south of Fran Rish Stadium.
Dutch Bros told the Herald that this location is set to open in early summer and will create about 40 new jobs.
Like their other Tri-Cities locations it will feature drive-thru and walk-up windows.
It will be the eighth Dutch Bros. Coffee shop in the Tri-Cities. There are four in Kennewick, two in Pasco and one in Richland.
