Alaska revives Tri-Cities flight to SoCal loved by Disney fans

Alaska Airlines quietly revived air service between Tri-Cities Airport and Burbank, Calif., starting on Sunday evening.

Seattle-based Alaska is one of two airlines that stepped in when Avelo Airlines exited the West Coast earlier this year. Avelo’s move left vacant the route between Pasco and the airport closest to Disneyland.

Alaska assigned a 76-seat Embraer 175 to the route.

It began offering daily nonstop flights to Hollywood Burbank Airport, aka the Bob Hope Airport, on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Roundtrip tickets start at about $400 for sample dates in November and can be booked at alaskaair.com.

A second airline, Breeze, based in Utah, will offer bi-weekly service starting in the spring.

Its schedule indicates the new run will begin March 18, with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Debut fares at flybreeze.com start at $35 for one-way travel.

In addition to Alaska and Breeze, the Tri-Cities Airport is served by Allegiant (Las Vegas and Phoenix-Mesa), Delta Airlines (Salt Lake City, Minneapolis and Seattle), United (Denver, San Francisco), and American Airlines (Phoenix-Sky Harbor).
