Maybe you were one of the lucky fans to snag tickets to see Taylor Swift at Lumen Field in Seattle on July 22-23, but the hard part isn’t over just yet.
Now it’s time to figure out what Swift era you’ll dress for.
Are you “… Ready for it?”
The Eras Tour is all about Swift’s journey in music and has a set list of 44 songs from all 10 of Swift’s albums — or eras.
Swifties have planned out and shown out in their best outfits since the start of the Eras Tour in March of this year. Stadiums have been filled with fans wearing DIY colorful outfits with sparkles, fringe, sequins, tulle and, you can’t forget, cowboy boots.
Here are some color palettes and outfit inspirations for each of Swift’s Eras.
“Taylor Swift”- 2006
Swift’s self-titled album, which she wrote while still in high school, was her first. It is a full country album that is youthful and filled with teenage romance and friendships. Channel this era with blues, greens, flowing dresses, cowboy boots and tight curls.
“Fearless”- 2008
“Fearless” has a mix of country and pop and is known for Swift’s hit songs, “You Belong with Me” and “Love Story.” This era is all about romance and heartbreaks. To dress for it, you’ll need to wear gold, fringe dresses and sparkly boots.
“Speak Now”- 2010
This era is all about purple, flowing dresses, tulle dresses or blouses, and, if you’re feeling “Enchanted,” a ball gown.
“Red”- 2012
This era is retro and classic Americana style. To dress for it you can wear high-waisted shorts, polka dots, stripes and, of course, red – lipstick, heart sunglasses, dresses.
You can also opt to recreate Swift’s outfit from her hit, “22,” with black bottoms, a “not a lot going on at the moment” T-shirt, a black fedora, red heart-shaped sunglasses and bold red lipstick.
“1989”- 2014
Neon metallics, sequins, short skirts, metallic skater skirts, crop tops and the seagull sweatshirt that Swift wears on the cover of the album are sure to never go out of “Style.” This era is also known for color blocking; you can even choose to match Swift herself with an all-orange sequin outfit.
“Reputation”- 2017
This era is dark and edgy. Pay homage by wearing black sequins, fishnet tights, snake tights and metallic details.
“Lover”- 2019
This era is a complete contrast to Swift’s previous era. The “Lover” era is dreamy and all about pastel shades of blue, pink and purple. Sparkly blouses, skirts or dresses will do, but don’t forget to pair them with Taylor’s “Lover” heart eye.
“Folklore”- 2020
“Folklore” is synonymous with cottage core aesthetics. Neutral and earth-toned long dresses, long loose skirts and cardigans mixed with hints of floral will all suffice.
“Evermore”- 2020
Similar to “Folklore,” dressing for the “Evermore” era has some hints of cottage core mixed with fall tones such as brown, mustard yellow and burnt red. Recreate Swift’s album cover by styling your hair into one french braid and throwing on a plaid coat or flannel with a turtleneck underneath.
“Midnights”- 2022
“Midnights” is Taylor’s latest album and the vibes are silver, metallic, fur, black, navy blue and purple. Pair up a black mini dress with a sparkly jacket and some silver or navy blue boots.
