Kennewick police made a felony arrest on the weekend of a suspect in more than $40,000 worth of vandalism from graffiti in multiple incidents.

The Kennewick Police Department said they believed Jorge Corrales-Bejar, 30, had been painting graffiti in the city under the name “Yuck” for several years.

They served a search warrant about 7:45 a.m. Saturday at a home in the Santiago Country View Estates on East Game Farm Road in the Finley area and arrested Corrales-Bejar. Evidence of graffiti painting was found within the home, according to police

Police also searched his car and found a handgun, even though Corrales-Bejar is prohibited from having guns as a convicted felon.

He was taken to the Benton County jail on suspicion of first degree malicious mischief and second degree possession of a firearm, both felonies.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation, which is continuing.

This is the second major arrest for graffiti in recent weeks. Michael L. Fouse was accused of causing about $11,000 worth of damage tagging walls, fences, trucks and a dumpster. He was arrested Dec. 12.
