Two suspects connected to a morning shooting and kidnapping in Pasco were shot Sunday afternoon by police.

One man was killed and another wounded in the officer-involving shooting at a home near 12th Avenue and Nixon Street, according to initial police reports at the scene.

No officers were injured in the shooting.

The cousins were wanted on $1 million murder warrants for a shooting 2 1/2 weeks ago.

On Sunday, they apparently returned to the same house on East Lewis Street where they are accused of shooting three people in a backyard, killing one man and hurting two others.

Juan M. “Scars” Montalvo and Miguel A. “Terco” Montalvo both had nationwide warrants for their arrests.

On Sunday afternoon, Pasco police surrounded a home near 12th and Nixon, after searching several hours for the men who fled the Sunday morning shooting in a stolen car.

Just before 8 a.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg through a window of the house, according to initial police broadcasts.

A second person was also wounded and a man was reportedly put in the trunk of the stolen getaway car but released a short time later, according to the broadcasts.

The suspects, initially described as two men in their 20s, fled in 2019 black Nissan Versa with the license plate BRC8401, said a Pasco police Facebook post.

It was stolen earlier from South Douglas Street.

The suspects were considered armed and dangerous, said police.

The shooting was at 1901 E. Lewis St., a few blocks east of the Lewis Street underpass.

On April 29, two men were fixing a backyard fence damaged in a windstorm at the same home when gunfire erupted, wounding both and killing a third.

A survivor told Pasco police he’s known one of the alleged shooters for some time, and the two even belong to the same gang.

Court documents unsealed a week ago didn’t reveal the motive behind the evening shooting, or what the victim Luis “Oso” Contreras was doing in the yard.

Contreras, 29, ended up shot several times by two different guns, based on .45-caliber and 9mm bullets recovered during his autopsy.

One of the alleged shooters and an accomplice who lied to police about the getaway car were arrested.

Antonio Larios, 18, and two cousins are charged in Franklin County with second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault. Larios is locked up on $1 million bail.

Pasco police released Larios’ moniker as “Pistol Pete,” but have since said he was misidentified in their original Facebook posting.

Eusiah A. Stell, also 18, is charged with first-degree rendering criminal assistance. His bail is $50,000.

The Tri-Cities Special Investigations Unit with officers from other agencies will investigate the officer-involved shooting.
