1 murder suspect arrested, 2 more on the run for Pasco backyard shooting
An 18-year-old accused in the backyard shooting that left a man dead and two others wounded was arrested in Granger.
Pasco detectives and regional law enforcement officers caught up with Antonio Larios on Thursday, hours after his name was made public as a suspect.
He’s now being held on $1 million bail on charges of second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault.
Pasco police released Larios’ moniker as “Pistol Pete,” but have since said he was misidentified in their original Facebook posting.
Two others — Juan M. “Scars” Montalvo, 25, and Miguel A. “Terco” Montalvo, 21 — are still at large, Pasco police said on their Facebook page.
The Montalvo cousins face the same charges. And $1 million arrest warrants were issued from Franklin County Superior Court.
A fourth man, Eusiah A. Stell, 18, was caught in Pasco by detectives and regional SWAT team members. He was booked into the jail on suspicion of first-degree rendering criminal assistance.
Luis “Oso” Contreras, 29, was killed April 29 in the backyard of a home at 1901 Lewis Street shortly before 6 p.m.
Neighbors heard as many as 10 gunshots and then saw several people running from the area.
Contreras died after being shot several times and two other men were found wounded.
Sergio Torres and Robert Montano Jr., were treated at local hospitals and have been released.
Pasco investigators say the suspects may be linked to a black 2006 Kia Sorento SUV with the license plate number AWR4147.
Juan Montalvo is 6-foot-2, weighs 265 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair. He normally wears glasses and has a tattoo on the back of his head.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2013 after being convicted of breaking into a home, and having a gun illegally. He had several convictions as a juvenile.
Miguel Montalvo is 5-foot-10, weighs 137 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo on his neck.
Miguel Montalvo was tied to attacking a fellow Franklin County jail inmate in 2018.
Anyone with information about the shooting or where the two Montalvo cousins might be is urged to call Detective Chris Caicedo at 509-619-9514, Detective Jed Abastillas at 509-727-8541 or dispatchers at 509-628-0333.
