Drivers wouldn’t let tow truck past after rollover crash on blue bridge
A traffic jam on the blue bridge dragged on Monday afternoon because drivers wouldn’t let a tow truck through to move the car.
A man heading south on Highway 395 approached slowing traffic too quickly about 12:30 p.m., Washington State Patrol Trooper Daniel Mosqueda said. He pulled his Nissan Rogue toward the median to avoid crashing into other traffic.
The SUV hit the concrete barrier and flipped. The driver had minor injuries and was able to get out of the vehicle, Mosqueda said.
While one lane remained open, the traffic on the highway soon began backing up.
The tow truck sent to remove the car became stuck in the traffic jam, Mosqueda said.
The trooper asked drivers stuck in traffic jams to keep an eye out for tow trucks with their yellow lights flashing because they may be trying to access the crash slowing traffic.
The tow truck arrived and was able to take the car away from scene about 1:40 p.m., Mosqueda said.
