A truck driver struck a bicyclist in Richland on Friday afternoon, leaving her hurt as he drove away.

The large box truck had been heading south on Keene Road when it tried to take a turn too quickly onto Duportail Street, Richland police said in a Facebook post on Sunday.

The truck jumped the curb onto the sidewalk and hit a woman with her bicycle, police said. The truck didn’t stop and pulled away.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for some minor injuries, police said.

Investigators later found the truck and driver. Police say he was cited with reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and failing to stop after a collision.

The driver wasn’t booked into the jail. When police were initially investigating, they didn’t know who was driving the truck. They issued the citation after confirming that he was behind the wheel.
