1 minor seriously hurt and airlifted after ATV crash at Finley park. 2 others injured
A juvenile was flown by medical helicopter to a Tri-City hospital after being thrown out of an ATV during a Sunday crash. Two others were injured.
All three were minors.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Benton County Fire District 1 responded to a report of a single-vehicle off-road collision in Hover Park in Finley on Sunday, according to a social media post.
Three juveniles were riding in a two-seater Can-Am Maverick ATV when they crashed.
Two were taken to a local hospital by ambulance and Life Flight Network airlifted the third.
The ages of the juveniles and severity of their injuries were not made public.
Hover Park is a 200-acre undeveloped park along the Columbia River. Off-road vehicles are not supposed to be in the park.
Benton Fire District 1 urges anyone off-roading to take safety precautions, especially when minors are involved. Those precautions include wearing helmets and safety glasses and always wearing seat belts.
