230+ acres burn in Yakima River delta
Windy conditions and warm temperatures aggravated firefighting efforts along Highway 240 in Richland and on Columbia Point just south of Interstate 182.
This photo from reader Scott Kimball shows the estimated 230 acres of wetland area in the Yakima River delta that burned since Wednesday.
The areas are expected to continue smoldering for a month. The cause is still under investigation.
