3 restaurants fail their Mid-Columbia health inspections

The Benton Franklin Health District food safety team gave failing scores to three restaurants and commercial kitchens inspected the week of Nov. 16-22.

Three passed with perfect scores, out of a dozen inspected.

The team conducted fewer than usual inspections as it addressed evidence of cockroaches reported that week at some restaurants at Columbia Center mall in Kennewick.

In the district’s full inspections, eateries receiving at least 35 points for the more serious red violations are required to have additional inspections and must meet a tougher standard on those. They must have fewer than 25 red points and a limited number of repeat problems to pass.
