New year, new restaurants and more: What’s opening in the Tri-Cities
Ring in 2022 with the newest Tri-City restaurants and retailers.
As 2021 comes to a close, several new businesses are opening their doors in the Tri-Cities.
Silo’s no more
Silo’s Sports Bar and Grill will be moving under the Dugout Bar & Grill banner.
After opening 2 1/2 years ago, Silo’s was sold to Tom Fisher and Marcus Hall, who own the other Dugout locations in the Tri-Cities.
The 21-and-over sports restaurant and grill was the brainchild of Steve Conner and Jerry Van Zuyen, who built the 5,600-square-foot restaurant to serve quality bar fare in a relaxed sports-themed setting.
The restaurant is open and now known as the Badger Canyon Dugout Bar & Grill.
The menu includes burgers, pizzas, salads and finger foods.
Chipotle
The Tri-Cities newest Chipotle Mexican Grill is now open near Southridge High School.
It is the fast casual Mexican grill’s third Tri-Cities location.
They currently have a restaurant near Columbia Center mall and another in Richland on Queensgate Drive in the Vintner Square shopping center.
The new outlet is at 3631 Plaza Way near Trios Southridge Hospital.
Forever 21
Forever 21 has opened in the Columbia Center mall.
The popular women’s fashion brand commands a 12,000-square-foot storefront between Kay Jewelers and Champs Sports, near JCPenney.
The store has been in the works since 2018 when permits were first filed. Its long road to opening includes surviving a companywide restructuring following a 2019 bankruptcy and subsequent sale to Authentic Brands, Brookfield Property Partners and Simon Property Group.
Brookfield and Simon previously teamed up to help save JCPenney. Brookfield owns 35 malls and retail centers, and Simon operates more than 230 malls.
Thrift Store
Veteran’s Thrift Store has expanded its Kennewick location.
The nonprofit reseller has expanded with extra space next door for furniture. The used furniture portion of the store occupies the former Office Max building near the Columbia Center.
Veteran’s Thrift Store opened in early 2021, as a low cost thrift store designed to help veterans. The nonprofit also operates the Veterans Warehouse Thrift Store in Wenatchee.
