Owner Darren Mayer told the Tri-City Herald this week he’s ready to move on after 10 years but is trying to find a devoted customer of the neighborhood bar who is willing to take it over.

And in a perfect world, he hopes the new owners will keep the Copper Top name.

The popular Southridge venue has spent a decade hosting local events, live music, celebrations and more, according to the Facebook post that broke the news.

The tap house opened in January 2016, featuring a rotating selection of 40 taps that honor the Pacific Northwest. They also have a variety of wine and hard ciders.

The functional space has the bar as its focal point. It has a small outside seating area as well, offering a sweeping hilltop view of the Southridge area and the Tri-Cities.

Copper Top doesn’t have a food menu but serves complementary popcorn and pretzels. Food trucks visit occasionally and customers are welcome to bring their own eats or have them delivered.

Mayer said his Facebook announcement has gotten a few potential interested buyers, and he’s encouraging anyone else to contact him for more details.

He hasn’t announced his timeline for the sale or a closing date. He vows to carry on with “pouring drinks, hosting events, and appreciating this community,” in the meantime.

Copper Top is at 5453 Ridgeline Dr., off Highway 395. The current tap list is available online.
