New Boba shop coming. Did 2 others close? + Tri-Cities trampoline park update
The Tri-Cities is getting a new Boba tea shop, but it looks like two others have closed.
Work is under way at the Boba Lab on Clearwater Avenue in the TT Center shopping center.
The popular drink is made with different types of tea and boba, which are tapioca pearls.
The Boba Lab has a health department inspection pending, but an opening date hasn’t been announced yet. It’s at 4827 W. Clearwater Ave.
Two other Boba tea shops look to have closed. Both Teahaus locations in the Tri-Cities have been shut down for a more than a month.
The Kennewick location near Kamiakin High School, at 5331 Canal Dr. is listed as for sale for $1.55 million.
Cajun food
A new Cajun kitchen launched last weekend.
Abair’s officially opened in the Red Mountain Kitchen, just in time for Mardis Gras celebrations.
They’re known for their gumbo, boudin balls, cracklin’ and étouffée.

Red Mountain is a communal specialty kitchen in downtown Kennewick with a variety of vendors. It’s at 212 W. Kennewick Ave.
Pasco Mod Pizza
The Pasco Mod Pizza has applied for a liquor license. The pizza shop is the last of three new fast casual dining spots in the Hogback development at 5326 N. Road 68. The Chipotle and Jersey Mikes already have opened.
No opening date yet has been set for the new Mod Pizza.
It’s located just north of the Wal-Mart Supercenter in a shopping center between Wrigley Drive and Sandifur Parkway.
This will be the third Tri-Cities Mod Pizza location. The others are at Columbia Center mall in Kennewick and the Vintner Square Shopping Center in Richland.
Trampoline park
The Quake Epicenter of Family Fun trampoline park and entertainment center also has applied for a liquor license.
Quake is set to be a 40,000-square-foot trampoline park and family fun center just outside Kennewick near Wiser Parkway and Interstate 82 in Badger Canyon.
It will have trampolines, a toddler playground, multiple Virtual Reality arcades, electronic gaming, tactical laser tag, a laser maze, cafe and lounge, party areas, conference rooms and other attractions.
The site would be the second trampoline park in the Tri-Cities, and about twice the size of the Max Air Trampoline Park south of Columbia Center mall.
