Tri-Cities bakery closes flagship location, but another is in the works + New cafe at library
A Tri-Cities favorite bakery has closed its original location, but don’t worry, its replacement is in the works.
Ethos Bakery and Cafe closed its flagship location at 2150 Keene Rd last week and was busy removing equipment and decor from the store over the weekend.
They had planned to launch its replacement, just across the intersection, around the same time but due to delays had to close the one spot when their lease ended, according to a blog post from the company.
When the new site does open, it’ll be bigger and better than ever.
It will house all of their bakery, milling and coffee operations, as well as have expanded indoor and outdoor seating, a drive-through and a new, even larger stone mill for making flour.
They’re hoping to be open by summer.
The new location will be about 580 feet away, on the other corner of Keene and Queensgate Drive. Meanwhile, their second site at 702 The Parkway will remain open, and they’ll be expanding the menu.
Ethos is bringing back their popular pizzas and other items, and planning pop-ups across the Tri-Cities.
Ethos started as a vendor at the Port of Benton’s Tri-Cities Enterprise Center in Richland in 2011, and soon expanded. They opened the Keene Road location in 2017 and launched the Parkway location in 2020.
Richland Library
A new cafe has opened in the Richland Library.
Kozy Kup has taken over the old home of Novel Coffee and Tea, which left the library earlier this year.
Novel began in the Richland Library in 2019 before opening their own storefront at 710 George Washington Way.
The city of Richland solicited bids for a new vendor, and Kozy Kup won out. They opened the library cafe this week, and their main location at 2250 Keene Rd. is still open.
The library cafe hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
El Agave
A new Mexican restaurant is impressing diners in Richland.
El Agave quietly opened this fall at 1301 Aaron Dr. in the old home of Rancho Bonito and El Porton.
The sit-down, Tex Mex style restaurant is getting rave reviews with customers praising their service, food and drinks.
El Agave open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
