Popular Tri-Cities restaurant opens waterfront eatery + Boutique Red Mountain winery grows
Months after smoke damage from a fire forced Kennewick’s Foodies Brick and Mortar to close, the popular restaurant has found new life a little closer to where they started.
Foodies on the River opened earlier this month in Columbia Park, bringing them back to the water, where the restaurant began as Floatin’ Foodies — essentially a boat version of a food truck.
The new location is the perfect spot to grab a bite and play some golf, with the restaurant at the center of the Columbia Park Golf Triplex, which features 18-holes of traditional golf on a 3-par course, foot golf and disc golf.
Foodies On The River is at 2701 Paul Parish Dr., also known as Columbia Park Trail on GPS. It’s the old home of Bite at the Landing, which closed by CG Public House and Catering in September.
.
After the February fire at the Cascade Building, their Richland location Foodies, Too remained open and they posted regular progress toward launching a food truck, Foodies On The Go.
The food truck began making appearances at events over the summer.
As for their old space in downtown Kennewick, that also will have new tenant soon.
Hot Mess Burger and Fries is working toward opening its own brick and mortar restaurant. While renovation work is under way, the Hot Mess food truck is parked nearby in the Red Mountain Kitchen parking lot.
Juanitos Prime Meats
A new meat market has opened in Kennewick. Juanitos Prime Meats specializes in fine meats, and high-end cuts. They’re owned by Juanito’s Foods, a carniceria in Pasco.
They celebrated a grand opening earlier this month with giveaways. The butcher shop will carry Wagyu and Prime cuts from Snake River Farms, as well as from Australia and Japan.
Juanitos Prime Meats is at 4812 W. Clearwater St. in Kennewick, and the flagship store is at 1620 W. Clark St. in Pasco. Check their Facebook page for specials and new products.
They’re open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Cooper Winery
Cooper Winery is celebrating the completion of its new winery in Benton City.
It’s a one-stop shop with everything needed to harvest grapes from their 45-acre vineyard to processing them on site and serving guests.
At 11,600-square feet, the facility features a production area, fermentation hall, barrel room and hospitality space. They hope to use it to support their current production and increase efficiencies, according to a news release.
The new space includes a 3,000-square-foot mezzanine tasting space overlooking the fermentation hall and Cooper Estate Vineyard on Red Mountain.
They’re currently operating a club-based membership, called the Coop Club. Those interested in learning more can connect the winery through its website.
Cooper Winery is at 35306 N. Sunset Road just outside of Benton City, off Highway 224.
Urgent Care
A new urgent care medical clinic is coming to the Southridge area of Kennewick.
The clinic, by Bob’s Burgers and Brews, will take up half of a 6,300-square-foot building currently under construction.
The 3,200-square-foot clinic will have four exam rooms, as well as an X-ray room and space for procedures, according to permits filed with the city.
A tenant for the other half of the building has not yet been announced. The project is currently listed as Kennewick Medical Clinic.
