Tri-Cities annual senior picnic is back on for this fall, after being postponed

The Tri-Cities Annual Senior Picnic has been rescheduled for 11 am. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Howard Amon Park, 500 Amon Drive, Richland.

It was originally set for Sept. 15, but canceled due to concerns about smoky air quality that week.

Those who had already bought admission buttons were urged to hold on to them for a rescheduled picnic.

Tickets also can be purchased for the reduced price of $5 at the Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Dr., Richland; Pasco Parks & Rec, 525 N. 3rd Ave., Pasco; and Southridge Events and Sports Complex, 2901 Southridge Blvd, Kennewick.

Food, entertainment, free flu shots from RxPharmacy, 40 vendors and raffle prizes are planned.

Participants are encouraged to wear a Hawaiian outfit.

Parking is available at Columbia Point Marina with a shuttle to the picnic.

Each year Richland, Kennewick and Pasco take turns playing host to the event, which draws as many as 1,000 people. This is its 27th year.
