Fall chinook season opens

The fall chinook season will be open all of September and October on parts of the Columbia and Snake rivers near the Tri-Cities.

The season will be open on the Columbia River from the railroad bridge between Burbank and Kennewick upstream about 2 miles. It also will be open on the Snake River from the mouth about seven miles upstream.

The 2015 Columbia River return of upriver bright adults is forecast at 626,000, with a significant portion of these expected to return to the Snake River.
