Gun novices can learn about firearms and try firing them at free Tri-Cities class

An introduction to firearms class is planned Saturday, June 21, at Griggs Department Store in Pasco in cooperation with the Richland Rod and Gun Club and the Tri Cities Metallic Silhouette Association.

Participants must be at least 18 or accompanied by an adult.

The free class will start with an introduction to the safe handling of guns, the different parts of a gun and sights, and the different types of firearms, including pistols, rifles and shotguns.

In the afternoon participants can join instructors at a firing range for a shooting demonstration of different calibers of firearms and to try shooting them.

Registration is required, and previous classes have filled quickly.

To register and for more information, call 509-737-7350.
