Royal drubs Connell 47-7, advances to Class 1A state football final
The Royal High School football team will attempt to complete an undefeated season next week in the Class 1A state title game.
The Knights (13-0) routed Connell 47-7 in a state semifinal Saturday at Lions Field in Moses Lake.
Kaden Jenks threw for four touchdowns and ran for a score for the Knights, who will face King’s (12-1) for the state championship at 1 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Tacoma Dome.
Connell (10-2) got on the board against its SCAC East rival in the fourth quarter, when Brian Hawkins completed a 53-yard touchdown pass to Nick Hopkins.
Royal will join Class 2A finalist Prosser next week in Tacoma.
