Friday night football follow: Grandview snaps 13-game losing streak

The Grandview Greyhounds have been wanting to celebrate a football victory.

They decided that 393 days was a long enough wait, pulling out a 31-21 Central Washington Athletic Conference home win Friday night over the Ephrata Tigers to snap a 13-game losing streak.

Grandview quarterback Anthony Mendoza completed 22 of 35 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns, and Eric Medina scored twice, including a 75-yard fumble return in the third quarter that gave the Greyhounds a 24-7 lead.

Medina and fellow receiver Felix Medina (no relation) combined to make 12 catches for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Mendoza’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Roger Renteria put Grandview ahead 31-7 before Ephrata staged a late rally.
