Prep football roundup: John Lesser again lifts Liberty Christian

John Lesser tacked on more big numbers to his monster senior season.

The Liberty Christian standout ran for 358 yards and four touchdowns, including the 100th rushing score of his career, and passed for one to lead the host Patriots to a 70-36 romp over Elgin (Ore.) on Friday night.

Lesser ran for scores of 56, 23, 3 and 64 yards. He has rolled up 1,098 yards on the ground to lead Liberty Christian’s 3-0 start.

Nico Shupe had touchdown runs of 12 and 10 yards during the Patriots’ 46-point second quarter.

Mitch Godwin caught a 30-yard scoring pass from Lesser and also got into the end zone on a 1-yard run.

Tanner Brown scored three touchdowns for River View, including two in the fourth quarter on runs of 24 and 23 yards.

Cameron Jamison scored twice for the Coyotes — on a 9 yard run and a 91-yard touchdown pass from Quentain Brown.
