Prep football roundup for Sept. 11: Stevens goes off in Richland win

Paxton Stevens tossed five touchdown passes, and the Richland defense surrendered just three first downs as the Bombers routed Shadle Park 52-0 on Friday night in Spokane.

“We didn’t expect to score 52 points on these guys,” Richland coach Mike Neidhold said. “But our defense played well, and our offense got on track a little bit.”

Stevens finished with 185 passing yards.

Alex Chapman and Nathan Schrecengost each caught two TD passes for the Bombers (1-1), who will host Chiawana next Friday in their Mid-Columbia Conference opener.

Lakota Wills led Richland in rushing with 77 yards on five carries.
