Former Connell star Spencer Hadley signs with Raiders
Former Connell football star Spencer Hadley signed a free-agent contract with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday.
Hadley, who signed with the New Orleans Saints back in May, had a standout four-year career at BYU. The 6-foot-1, 227-pound backer played in 43 games with 149 tackles, 4 1/2 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. His senior season was cut short by a knee injury.
He was part of a Connell program that finished second in state back-to-back years in 2006 and ’07.
The Raiders also signed safety Larry Asante. To make room, the team waived/injured safety Shelton Johnson and linebacker Marshall McFadden.
