Richland senior quarterback Paxton Stevens passed for 176 yards and a career-high six touchdowns to lead the Bombers to a 41-0 win over Sunnyside in their Class 4A state playoff opener Friday night at Lampson Stadium.

Stevens threw touchdown passes of 57, 13, 16, 9, 8 and 15 yards for the Bombers, who improved to 11-0 with the victory over the Grizzlies (8-3).

Stevens entered the game having passed for 2,215 yards and 22 touchdowns against just eight interceptions.

Stevens will lead the Bombers into the 4A state quarterfinals at 5 p.m. Saturday against the Bothell Cougars (9-2) at Lampson Stadium. The game will be broadcast on SWX and KONA 610 AM.
