Springlike weather and temperatures have brought maintenance workers and landscaping crews out of winter hibernation.

Reese Groves, a Homewood Suites by Hilton maintenance worker, climbed a stepladder into the bottom bowl of the hotel’s prominently placed fountain to seal cracks before a scheduled repainting project in Richland.

The repainting and other outdoor projects might need to be temporarily postponed because the National Weather Service is predicting mostly cloudy conditions and a slight chance of showers each day through the rest of week.

The skies are supposed to be mostly sunny during the day Saturday until a slight chance of showers return that night.

The high temperatures are expect to remain in the high 50s to low 60s through Sunday.

The best time for outdoor springtime projects to resume might be on Monday when the high is expected to reach the 70s.
