These three taco joints in Washington are among the best in the US, Yelp says
Three spots in Washington are among the best for tacos in the nation, according to Yelp.
Yelp released its list of the “top 100 taco spots,” and it included places in Everett, Issaquah and Lynnwood.
To find the top taco spots, Yelp looked at U.S. businesses in the restaurants and food category with a large number of reviews that mentioned tacos, then ranked each place based on the total volume and ratings of reviews.
TACO-BOOK Taqueria — Everett
This small Mexican food restaurant in Everett offers tacos and a wide selection of other dishes.
Yelp reviewers seemed to rave about the barbacoa tacos, though.
“Get the barbacoa tacos with consume and a bottle of Mexican coke ... thank me later,” one reviewer wrote.
Other recommendations included the carne asada tacos and the chicken tacos.
“Food-authentic Mexican, abuela’s recipe, yummy in my tummy ... all of it!! I have gone through the menu and you won’t go wrong with any of it,” another reviewer said.
Xochi — Issaquah
This food truck in Issaquah only serves tacos, but it’s a “hidden lunch truck gem.”
The menu includes meat and vegetarian options.
Meat options include steak and onions, chicken in chipotle sauce, pork in achiote sauce, chorizo and potatoes and pork rinds in a spicy tomato sauce.
Vegetarian options include zucchini corn and tomatoes, potatoes, poblano peppers in a sour cream sauce and brussels sprouts, carrots and garlic.
“All of the tacos were fantastic and so fresh! It takes awhile to get these tacos because it’s made cooked-to-order, and you can easily tell at first bite.”
Taqueria Pollo Asado — Lynnwood
Taqueria Pollo Asado is hidden inside a gas station in Lynnwood, but Yelp reviewers say the tacos don’t disappoint.
“This taco spot might surprise you! It doesn’t look like much but the flavor is there!” one reviewer wrote.
The taco joint serves a selection of taco meats including beef, chicken, spicy pork, fried pork, beef tongue, beef cheek and beef tripe.
“Their spicy pork tacos are so flavorful and I love the salsas they offer,” another reviewer wrote.
