These Washington restaurants rank among the most romantic places to eat in the US
Two Washington restaurants landed spots on OpenTable’s list of the top 100 most romantic places to eat in the United States.
The restaurant-reservation service released its list of “The 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America 2022” on Jan. 28 — just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Both Italian restaurants are in Seattle, and guests can choose a candlelit dinner with a view of the bay or a cozy eatery known for its ambiance.
Either way, OpenTable reviewers thought highly of both.
OpenTable analyzed over 12.4 million reviews from restaurants across the country to showcase the places that have “world-class cuisine, attentive (but never intrusive) service, and a unique ambiance.”
The Pink Door
Customers are first greeted with a single pink-colored door. There’s no sign or indication that the space hiding behind the door is a quaint and intimate eatery.
The Pink Door has been a beloved spot in Seattle for Italian and American cuisine since 1981, so it was no surprise to reviewers when it landed on OpenTable’s most romantic restaurants in 2022.
It’s the “ultimate date night spot” in the city, one reviewer wrote recently about the restaurant nestled in Pike Place Market.
At sunset, guests choosing to sit on the patio have a view of the Elliot Bay while eating a candlelit meal.
“Pink Door never disappoints. The food is delicious and I love the elegant, romantic vibe of the restaurant. Perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration,” another reviewer wrote.
Numerous customers raved about the Lasagna Pink Door — served with fresh spinach pasta, béchamel sauce, pesto and smothered with marinara sauce.
Il Terrazzo Carmine
This classic Italian restaurant in Pioneer Square is known for its cozy ambiance, delicious food and “exceptional” service. And reviewers agree that it’s a romantic date spot.
“An Italian jewel that always meets or exceeds your expectations,” one user wrote about Il Terrazzo Carmine.
The restaurant was opened in 1984 by Carmine Smeraldo, who grew up in Naples, Italy, and it’s described as “an atmosphere you may want to call home and never leave.”
“This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle, elegant but cozy,” another reviewer said.
OpenTable reviewers recommend ordering the calamari affogati for an appetizer – squid simmered in garlic, tomatoes, olives and capers, and the rigatoni bolognese.
