Poker player hits huge jackpot with rare hand in Vegas. What were the winning cards?
A poker player from Nebraska won a huge jackpot prize with a rare hand at a Las Vegas casino.
Now, the Omaha man is $1,620,470 richer.
He went to Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Sept. 5 to watch football, according to a news release from Caesars Entertainment.
At one point, he decided to sit at a Pai Gow poker table and try his luck.
He played for over an hour and ended up with a seven-card straight flush, the company said.
A straight flush happens when the cards are in sequential order in the same suit.
“A straight flush represents one of the rarest and strongest hands you can make in a game of poker,” according to Upswing Poker.
The lucky player won the $1.6 million jackpot with cards 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Ace and a Joker.
He said his “first thought was to call his wife” after his big win. He told the casino he plans to invest his prize money.
Planet Hollywood is on the center of the Strip.
