A pair of siblings’ sentimental strategy scored them a big prize in Massachusetts, lottery officials said.

Brother William Fralick and sister Pamela McClure each won $25,000 a year for life in the multi-state “Lucky for Life” game by using the same five numbers at different stores, officials said in an emailed news release.

The siblings said their winning numbers represent family birthdays, officials said.

The drawing was Aug. 25 and they claimed their winnings Friday, Aug. 30 at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. Both chose a one-time cash prize of $390,000 before taxes.

McClure doesn’t have plans for her winnings just yet, while her brother plans to put his into savings, officials said.

Fralick bought his ticket at a store in Brockton, officials said, and McClure bought her ticket at an Abington store. Brockton and Abington are about a 25-mile drive south from Boston.
