An Iowa lottery player said he knew he was going to win before he finished scratching off the ticket, so he gathered his friends to witness the moment with him.
“’Hey man, check this out!” the Waterloo man said to his friends. “I’m about to win $100,000!”
Scratching off the final letter of his Scrabble crossword ticket — with friends in the room — the 37-year-old revealed the $100,000 prize, according to an Aug. 30 news release from the Iowa Lottery.
“Oh, it was awesome!” winner Travis Green told officials. “I had my friends there and everything!”
Green said he was still trying to decide what to do with his winnings, according to lottery officials, but was happy to have his friends with him.
