An Iowa woman shocked both her husband and the family dog when a scratch-off ticket revealed a big prize.

“I did a little bit more than a ‘woo-hoo,’” winner Keri Kraft told lottery officials, describing the moment she realized she won a $10,000 prize.

Her celebration got the attention of her dog.

“My dog came running and thought I’d fallen or something,” the winner told officials on Aug. 28.

Kraft scratched the ticket after she got home from the Casey’s convenience store in Durant and rushed to tell her husband about the prize.

When she broke the news, she said her husband’s “eyes about popped out of his head.”

Kraft told lottery officials that she plans to save her winnings.

Durant is about a 35-mile drive southeast from Iowa City.
