Colorful shark mural unveiled on Pasco school playground

Pasco students, staff and school board members check out the new mural at Captain Gray STEM Elementary in Pasco on the school’s playground.

The mural — painted by New Horizons High School teacher Saul Martinez — features the school’s shark mascot decorated in an abundance of colors.

“As an artist, teacher and community member, it means the world to provide something that activates a space for our students to feel noticed and appreciated,” Martinez said in a statement. “Community projects, like this, uplift the human spirit.”

The project was made possible by Elite Construction + Development, A Sharp Painter and Stripe Rite.
