Responders were unable to find the source of the disturbance, but recognized a suspect they believe had been involved in a shooting at the same location two weeks ago.

“Our street crimes unit detectives have been diligently investigating the first incident and have established probable cause to arrest the suspect,” Richland police wrote in a Monday post to Facebook.

The first incident happened shortly after midnight Nov. 2. Investigators believe an argument broke out in the parking lot, and as two men were driving away someone fired gunshots at them.

A witness reported hearing four shots, but the suspect fled before police could arrive.

Two men showed up minutes later at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with gunshot wounds to their chest and stomach. Police say the injuries were serious, but not life-threatening.

The department’s street crimes detectives are still investigating both cases. Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333 or go to richlandwa.gov/policetips.
