A 21-year-old man died at a Richland construction site after being hit by a front loader.

The man, whose name has not been released, was working at the Westcliffe Heights subdivision near the corner of Epic Street and Ascend Street about 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

Deputy Coroner Dennis Morris said the employee died at the scene.

Details were not immediately available about how it occurred.

The Department of Labor and Industries is investigating and will determine if an autopsy needs to be done.

The luxury housing construction project on Little Badger Mountain is being developed by Pahlisch Homes. Prices start about $726,000, according to the website.
