Woman accused of hitting police officers at Prosser Christmas tree lighting festival
A woman accused of hitting and kicking police officers was booked into the Benton County jail Friday evening.
Callers to 911 reported that a woman was standing in traffic near the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival held in Prosser starting late that afternoon. She was blocking cars and then running after vehicles, they said.
When police tried to talk to her she attacked several officers, according to the Prosser Police Department. No one was reported injured.
Police did not release a name, but Erica Yolanda Alvarez, 46, was booked into the Benton County jail at 5:41 p.m. Friday on suspicion of felony third-degree assault, according to jail records.
