4 teens charged in ambush robbery that left a Tri-Cities man beaten and stabbed

Four teens are accused of stabbing and severely beating a man during an ambush robbery for some marijuana vaping cartridges near Pasco High School in early October.

The victim suffered a serious head injury, stab wound, broken arm and other injuries, court documents said.

Issaiah G. Parada, Santiago McMaster, Alenjandro Gonzalez and Miguel Vasquez, all 18, allegedly lured the man to a Henry Street address on Oct. 7.

Parada, Gonzalez and Vasquez are all charged with first-degree robbery in Franklin County Superior Court. McMaster faces the same charge in Benton-Franklin Juvenile Court since he was 17 at the time.

Parada is charged with an additional count for second-degree assault.

Three of them, Parada, McMaster and Gonzalez are in jail with bail set at $50,000 each.

A $50,000 nationwide arrest warrant was issued for Vasquez.

The Oct. 7 incident started with a SnapChat message exchange between Parada and the victim about smoking marijuana, court documents said.

The two were classmates at the High School Academy at Columbia Basin College. The program allows older students to get their high school diplomas.

Parada said to meet him outside a home across the street from Pasco High School, according to court documents.

The victim and another man parked near the high school’s rear parking lot, bringing along 11 THC cartridges for vape pens.

He saw Parada approaching and was then attacked by about six people, according to court documents. The other man was taken out of the car and held at gunpoint during the beating. It’s unclear if police are looking for more suspects in the case.

The injured man was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

Police tracked Parada to his girlfriend’s home on the 1900 block of North Seventh Avenue on Oct. 17. He eventually surrendered to the Tri-Cities Regional SWAT team.

He later told investigators he intended to buy the cartridges but then there was a fight and he thought he was being robbed, court documents said.
