Pasco woman remains missing, but investigators believe she’s alive
Investigators don’t believe a Pasco woman is in danger but she continues to be missing more than two weeks after disappearing.
Irene Fleming, 31, was reportedly spotted on Feb. 29 at an East Wenatchee business, according to an employee who recognized her from social media posts, according to a Grant County Sheriff’s Office Facebook update on Tuesday.
In addition, someone matching Fleming’s description was apparently seen at an East Wenatchee Costco on March 2.
Fleming was staying at a Grant County home on the 4900 block of Road U Sourthwest close to the Silica Road exit on Interstate 90. The unincorporated area is between the rural communities of George and Vantage.
Several witnesses at the home said she walked away between 4 and 5 p.m. on Feb. 25, the sheriff’s office said.
She called family members the same day to say she was in Wenatchee, and her family initially called Wenatchee police to file a missing persons report.
“Throughout the last week and this past weekend, detectives have followed up on possible leads and interviewed people,” the Grant County Sheriff’s Office said in the post. “Detectives also spent hours searching the area near the Road U Southwest home, both on foot and with drones. No sign of Irene was found.”
After discussions with the Grant County prosecutor and a Superior Court judge, it was decided that there wasn’t enough evidence to support a search warrant for Fleming’s phone records.
Wenatchee area police have been asked to be on the lookout for Fleming, and detectives are continuing to investigate.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 509-762-1160 or email crimetips@grantcountywa.gov. Callers can remain anonymous.
