The Tri-Cities man hospitalized after being shot by his girlfriend over the weekend has died.

Now Shayla Dawn Shearer, 36, of Kennewick, will be charged with murder, said investigators.

Shearer was arrested Saturday morning after reportedly shooting Brayden Klatt, 25, at a home on the 700 block of North Huntington Street.

Kennewick police said the two were in a domestic relationship.

She was initially booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of first-degree assault and held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Kennewick police said in a news release Thursday that Klatt’s condition had worsened in the hospital and he died.

The release said the charges will be upgraded to second-degree murder with an enhancement for a deadly weapon.
