The driver killed in a car crash Halloween evening in Pasco has been identified.

The two-vehicle collision happened near the intersection of Swallow and Stearman avenues about 5:10 p.m. Monday near the Starlight Motel.

Franklin County Coroner Curtis McGary said Samuel Diaz Soto, 29, of Pasco, was killed in the wreck.

According to scanner traffic, the wreck was a high speed head-on between Diaz Soto’s Honda sedan and a flatbed pickup truck.

Ben Shearer with the Pasco Fire Department confirmed that the other driver was taken to a local hospital.

A portion of Fourth Avenue near the Stearman intersection was closed for about two hours while police investigated and emergency crews cleared the wreckage.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
