Pasco police still hunting for interstate shooter. Victim in intensive care
Pasco police are continuing to hunt for a shooter who opened fire Thursday on Interstate 182, leaving a driver in intensive care.
Detectives are looking for a gold or brown compact car after someone inside shot at a Toyota Celica heading west on the highway between the Highway 395 interchange and Road 68, Pasco police said.
A man inside the Celica was hit and seriously hurt, police said. He was taken to a local hospital and remains in the intensive care unit, police said.
Police believe the suspect targeted the car.
The shooting shut down westbound lanes for five hours between 20th Avenue and Road 68 as the Washington State Patrol and Pasco police investigated the shooting.
Police have not said if the shooting is connected to reports of gunshots near Richardson Park off 20th Avenue a short time earlier.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police through the non-emergency dispatch line at 509-628-0333, or email Detective Julie Lee at leej@pasco-wa.gov or Detective Jed Abastillas at abastillasj@pasco-wa.gov regarding case 20-15818.
