Orchard worker found dead in irrigation pond north of Pasco

An agricultural worker was found dead last week an irrigation pond in a Franklin County orchard.

Leandro Nava De La Cruz, 21, had been drinking with a co-worker at an orchard on Sagemoor Road on the night of Thursday, June 11, Franklin County Coroner Curtis McGary told the Tri-City Herald.

De La Cruz stayed near the pond north of Pasco after the co-worker left. His body was discovered in the water the next day, McGary said.

The coroner’s office has determined his death was accidental, believing he fell into the pond and drowned.
