A 15-year-old Richland teen was arrested after stabbing a man six times while the man was fighting with the boy’s mother.

The man suffered a collapsed lung and lost two teeth, said court documents.

The teen is charged with first-degree assault in Benton County Juvenile Court.

Neighbors at an apartment building at 2300 Hood Avenue began calling 911 about 10 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, when they heard a loud argument in one of the units.

When officers arrived, they found blood on the steps, handrail, siding and on the second-floor balcony, court documents said.

The 37-year-old victim, Jonathan C. Solano, answered the door with blood on his clothing, face and dripping down his legs, said police.

He told police he had gotten into an argument with his wife, and they began shoving each other back and forth. The teen then allegedly stabbed him several times. Documents do not say what he was stabbed with.

He was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with wounds to his arm and torso.

Vanessa Garza was also booked into the Benton County jail on one count of fourth-degree assault. She was released later the same day.

Police said in a Facebook post that they are continuing to investigate, and people who know anything about the incident are asked to visit the police website to give a tip.
