When are Tri-Cities grocery stores open for Christmas? Here are holiday hours

While Christmas can be a source of joy, it can also be a source of stress.

Trying to cultivate the perfect day can be difficult — especially if you forget something important.

If you need to run to the store for some last-minute shopping, most Tri-Cities grocery stores are open for Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24.

However, only one major supermarket chain will be open locally on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25.

When do Tri-Cities grocery stores close on Christmas Eve?

In Tri-Cities, Walmart, Target, WinCo and other grocery stores will be open for Christmas Eve in 2025, although some will close early in observance of the holiday.

Here are holiday store hours:

Both Tri-Cities Costco Wholesale locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24.

Yoke’s Fresh Market locations will open at 5 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. on Christmas at each of its Tri-Cities locations.

All local Walmart locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Both Target locations will be open on Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Fred Meyer stores will be open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, with pharmacies closing an hour earlier at 5 p.m.

Normally open 24 hours, both WinCo locations will close early at 5:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve. They’ll reopen at 7 a.m. on the day after Christmas, Friday, Dec. 26.

All local Grocery Outlet locations will close at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

What supermarkets are open Christmas Day in Tri-Cities?

In Tri-Cities, the only grocery store chain open on Christmas Day in Tri-Cities is Safeway.

Safeway’s Richland, Kennewick and Pasco locations will have adjusted hours both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

On Wednesday, Dec. 24, Safeway will be open from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Local Safeway supermarket will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25.

Safeway pharmacies will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but closed on Christmas Day.

All other chain grocery options will be closed on Christmas Day,
