Richland man identified after dying from jump onto Interstate 182
The identity of a 47-year-old Richland man who died after jumping from an Interstate 182 overpass has been released.
Chanthalangsy Oudom didn’t leave behind any information about why he went to the Keene Road overpass on Monday evening, Trooper Daniel Mosqueda told the Tri-City Herald.
A Wednesday autopsy confirmed that he died from the fall, Benton County Coroner Bill Leach told the Tri-City Herald.
Oudom is believed to have jumped from the overpass into the westbound lanes of I-182 about 5:35 p.m.
The investigation delayed traffic for two hours on the interstate near Queensgate Drive.
The Washington State Patrol is continuing to look for anyone who saw the man on Keene Road or any vehicles stopped on Interstate 182 before police arrived.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective James Stairet at 509-378-2753 or email James.Stairet@wsp.wa.gov.

Oudom lived in Tucson before moving to Richland, public documents said. Much of his family lived in the area. It’s not clear what brought him to the Tri-Cities, but documents show he had struggles with the law in the past 10 years.
His issues continued after moving to the Tri-Cities. He was arrested in August for assaulting a woman, forcing her to flee into a fire station. He allegedly attacked her again in a Richland hotel in October, violating a protection order. The woman said he appeared to have used meth and alcohol.
He pleaded guilty last week to violating the protection order, and was released.
