A teen is dead after a crash about six miles north of Pasco before dawn Saturday, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The driver lost control and rolled on Taylor Flats Road, just north of Birch Road.

Benton County deputies arrived to find Rene Ramos-Campos, 19, outside the crashed car and unresponsive. He died before he could be taken to a hospital.

No one else was in the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

Speeding and alcohol may have played a role in the accident, according to the preliminary investigation.

Taylor Flats Road was closed to traffic between Birch and Sagemoor roads, the sheriff’s office reported about 7 a.m.

“The sheriff’s office reminds all motorists to slow down, wear seat belts and drive attentively — particularly on rural roadways where conditions can change quickly,” the sheriff’s office posted to social media.

A GoFundMe campaign was created by Dario Birrueta to help the teen’s mother cover the cost of the funeral. Ramos Campos was one of seven siblings raised by a single mother, the GoFundMe said.

Birrueta said he was a special person who loved to help his mother.

“Rene was loved by many, always made everyone smile, laugh, and he always put everyone before him. Tragically he left at such a young age,” Birrueta wrote.
