Police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old man found outside the Prosser branch of the Mid-Columbia Libraries Wednesday afternoon.

Bonifacio Gaspar Rivera of Prosser wasn’t breathing when they found him on the 900 block of Seventh Street, said Prosser police and Benton County Chief Deputy Coroner Dennis Morris.

First responders tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances of how he died with the help of the coroner’s office. Morris said an autopsy is planned early next week, but there were no immediate signs of foul play.
